Cabbage steaks are a great alternative to traditional meat dishes. They’re full of nutrients, low in calories, and high in flavor. So, give your cabbage a bit of crunch with our yummy air fryer cabbage steak recipe. Cooked until fork tender with crispy edges. No overdone mushy texture or smelly cabbage odor.
Ingredients: 1 Cabbage Steak Slice (1 inch thick) 1 Tablespoon Olive Oil Salt Pepper (optional) Garlic Powder (optional
Directions: Set your air fryer to the “air fry” setting 375°F–400°F (about 190°C–200°C). Place the cabbage steak on the air fryer tray. Be sure that the cabbage fits leaving a little room around the edges, if too large your cabbage will steam instead of roast. The goal is a fork tender center with crispy edges.
Pour or brush on olive oil. Sprinkle on salt, pepper, and garlic powder.
Cook for 20-25 minutes, turning with silicon tongs halfway through cooking time, until edges are golden brown and center is fork-tender.
Enjoy!
Crispy Cooking Tips: Be sure to dry your cabbage steak, after cleaning, soaking, and rinsing. Brushing on olive oil ensures that your cabbage steak is fully coated.
Note: Some say do not use aerosol cooking sprays in the air fryer basket, as it may cause damage to the coating.
