Hot Chocolate

Over 4,000 years ago this hot beverage was refined in Mexico from the cacao plants.  These two different rich and tasty beverages are perfect for a chilly day.  The household favorite hot cocoa is made from a powder and hot chocolate is made from chopped pieces of chocolate (or Cacao) which is melted, then mixed with hot water, milk or some use cream.

Mint Hot Chocolate Beverage
1 Cup of Milk
2 – 1 ½ Tablespoons Chocolate (or Cacao) Finely Chopped
Pinch of Sea Salt
Pinch or 2 Pinches of Light Brown Sugar
Pinch of Cinnamon (optional)
Splash of Vanilla (optional)
2 Small Peppermint or Mint leaves

Add all ingredients to a small sauce pan. On medium-low, whisk or stir until chocolate is completely melted. Pour into your favorite hot beverage cup or mug.
