Over 4,000 years ago this hot beverage was refined in Mexico from the cacao plants. These two different rich and tasty beverages are perfect for a chilly day. The household favorite hot cocoa is made from a powder and hot chocolate is made from chopped pieces of chocolate (or Cacao) which is melted, then mixed with hot water, milk or some use cream.
Mint Hot Chocolate Beverage
Ingredients: 1 Cup of Milk 2 – 1 ½ Tablespoons Chocolate (or Cacao) Finely Chopped Pinch of Sea Salt Pinch or 2 Pinches of Light Brown Sugar Pinch of Cinnamon (optional) Splash of Vanilla (optional) 2 Small Peppermint or Mint leaves
Add all ingredients to a small sauce pan. On medium-low, whisk or stir until chocolate is completely melted. Pour into your favorite hot beverage cup or mug.
