National Let’s Laugh Day is March 19 when we celebrate laughter, yes laughter, a vital part of our everyday lives. Some people think of laughter as a response to comedy, a therapeutic mood-changer, or a reaction to social situations. Whichever, this inherent behavior does bond us through humor. A good laugh is said to release endorphins in the brain, those good feeling neurotransmitters that have a similar effect to anesthetics. It is also believed that Endorphins are the reason why laughing is so infectious.
Many believe laughing can result in many health benefits both physical and mental. It can increase oxygen circulation and blood flow, stimulate the heart, lungs and help with muscle relaxation. Laughter can also improve your immune system by releasing stress fighting chemicals and help lessen depression and anxiety.
So let’s celebrate Let’s Laugh Day with some of your favorite jokes, stories, comedies, rom-coms, comics or comedians, the funnier, the heartier the laughter the better.
