Whether you call it Stuffing, Dressing or Filling your Thanksgiving Dinner table isn’t complete without this traditional side dish.
Growing up while visiting family in the Southern states I remember hearing relatives call it dressing. A few friends that moved to Georgia and the Carolinas started calling it dressing. Some people in PA Dutch Country call it filling. My family has always called it stuffing. Whether my Grandmother actually stuffed the turkey or she made it as a side dish, it was known as stuffing. Does the name really matter? If it’s made with bread, breadcrumbs, cornbread, potatoes or rice and mixed with meat, seafood, fruit or vegetables this side dish completes the Thanksgiving Dinner table. So enjoy this rich dish.
This year I am going to sneak in some turkey sausage into the stuffing, hopefully this will not create chaos at the dinner table.
