Physical (Mineral) Sunscreen

Physical or Mineral sunscreen help prevent UV rays from penetrating the skin. It protects by reflecting harmful ultraviolet (UV) rays. The active mineral ingredients zinc oxide or titanium dioxide acts as a guard against UVA and UVB rays from the sun. When applied, it offers quick protection and is believed to be less irritating to sensitive skin due to its mineral contents. These sunscreens have been known to leave a cream or white residue on the skin. Higher SPF provides more sunburn protection.
