Place each cob on a sheet of aluminum foil. Coat with butter and sprinkle with salt and pepper. Wrap each ear of corn in the foil, making sure it’s sealed all round. This is key to avoid butter spilling out which can cause flare ups.

Corn on Grill

Preheat your grill to medium-high heat about 375°F. Place the foil-wrapped corn directly on the grill grates. Cook for about 20 – 25 minutes, turning every 7 minutes for even cooking. Optional: finish grilling directly on grill grates for about 2-3 for extra flavor.

Carefully remove the corn from the grill using tongs or grill mits or both. Remember it’s hot. Carefully open a small section in the foil packet to let out a rush of the steam out. Brush additional butter (or oil), add spices, herbs, or cheese.

Tips:

Grill Cooking Time
Corn Cob (buttered): Grill at 375°F  for about 20–25 minutes
Corn Cob (oil): Grill at 375°F for about 18–22 minutes

How to check for doneness:
Corn kernels should be plump and easy to pierce with a fork.
If kernels look pale or appear firm, close foil and grill for another 7 to 8 minutes.

Fire up that grill and get cooking! This recipe is not only delicious it’s great for any summer gathering.

Leftover corn is perfect for our Tomato and Corn Salad recipe.
